Real Madrid has confirmed that striker Gonzalo Higuain will be absent for nearly a month. Higuain played the full 90 minutes on Sunday night but tests have shown he has sustained a left foot injury that will sideline him for around three weeks. Higuain has had an excellent beginning this season and added another remarkable performance on the weekend. He scored one goal and assisted the other as Madrid beat Mallorca 2-0. Higuain’s injury may bring down Madrids confidence, as the Argentinean is their leading scorer with 11 goals in his last 10 matches. Higuain will possibly not be playing against Athletic Bilbao, Deportivo La Coruna, or Malaga. Karim Benzema, who recently stated he was disappointed with the few minutes of playing at Madrid, will be the replacement for Higuain.
