Are We Really Expected To Believe That Man Utd Will Not Be Affected By C.r’s Departure ?

  1. Thats it, everybody jumps to defend Man Utd.
Lets be fair, at the moment it’s not looking good,
that’s until he makes a few world class signings, but the question remains will he able to and will they pay off. None of the top class players seem to be for sale anymore and the ones that clubs would be willing to sell,
they’ll want a huge amount of money for.
If you look at Man Utd’s current midfield, leaving out Giggs and Scholes (as they’ll be retiring very soon)
That leaves them with Fletcher, Anderson, O’Shea, Carrick, Nani
and Park. It’s not exactly the best in the world is it, Fergie’s going to have to sign much better players than Anderson.
Also signing players like Valencia to replace the likes of Ronaldo and Giggs isn’t the right idea.
It all depends on now how they’ll do in the transfer market,
if he gets it right they’ll be fine, but if he gets it wrong i think we won’t be seeing the same type of Man Utd we’ve watched for the past couple of seasons.

  2. Five of Real Madrid’s European triumphs came at the inception of the competition, when they were government-backed and bankrolled by Franco and had a massively unfair advantage. They continue to sell their assets to the government for cold cash, only to mysteriously have them returned. Defend that.

  6. you are an idiot this happens every time when beckham left everyone thought united would fail, we didn’t and now ronaldo has gone i say good riddens we WILL play allot better as we wont have ronaldo doing his stupid runs and losing the ball; we also wont have him scoring 1 in 20 free-kicks the other 19 going into the wall. instead we will have a player that passes and will in-turn set up THE TEAM for allot more goals anyone who says now that ronaldo has gone united will fail are complete idiots. Yes we have a few players retiring soon but we also have 80 million for selling ronaldo which can buy us some really good young players we also have danny wellbeck which will probs take over giggs position theirs allot of players out their but think what you want the next season coming up will prove the doubts over united when we win it again.

  7. Sick of hearing this crap everytime a big name moves on from United.
Remember, Ronaldo wasn’t a big name star when he arrived at Old Trafford, and fans of other clubs said who? when he was announced as a signing, but you all know who he is now, right?
Sir Alex knows what he is doing after 23 years at the helm, he knows who he wants to sign, and what he needs to do to sign them.
Sorry to disappoint you scousers, but Man United will continue to be a major force in the premiership for a long time yet

  8. Ronaldo and Tevez are huge losses going forward for United. Antonio Valencia from Wigan is being strongly linked to fill the right wing. I like him and he has a lot of talent. However, I don’t think he’ll be scoring 30+ goals a season.
The main issue facing United at the moment is goals. Berbatov has shown himself to be inconsistent and Rooney tends to have a few barren spells every season. It’s true that there are many exciting young strikers at United, but I wouldn’t want to pin all my hopes on Macheda and Welbeck if either Rooney or Berbatov got injured. They need to sign an established striker who can guarantee goals.
The defence is solid enough. They had a fantastic season last year. In the longer term, Rafael looks like a good replacement for Gary Neville. Van Der Sar is nearing 39 and a long term replacement will be needed, but not for next season.
Anderson and Carrick failed on the big stage against Barcelona. They are good players, but not world class. Giggs has at best 2 seasons left of football in him. Both Giggs and Scholes have shown their age by the end of last season. Nani is a good winger and Fletcher and Park are good players too. Overall, it’s good, not great.
If I was Ferguson I’d get a proven goalscorer and a winger of the standard of Valencia’s David Silva (though he might not want to move to England). They need a talented winger to replace the pace and delivery Ronaldo gave to the team. If they don’t, they’ll face quite a struggle from Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City and Villa for the top 4.
